Cellar Dwellers | Woof’s Winter Walk & Wine – July
Woof is Coonawarra’s wandering vineyard dog. Each winter he hides along the Walking Trail, waiting to lead curious explorers to a secret tasting.
These school holidays, rug up and step out into the crisp country air for a relaxed winter adventure along the Coonawarra Walking Trail. Wander at your own pace between participating cellar doors, where warming reds, friendly faces and cosy experiences await.
Start your walk at Zema Estate, where there is plenty of parking and a warm welcome to begin your journey. Collect your trail passport and follow the path through the vines, keeping an eye out for Woof hidden somewhere along the rich Terra Rossa track.
Those lucky enough to find him will unlock access to the “Secret Wine” – a special tasting at each of the six participating wineries, reserved for those who track him down. Once discovered, Woof will wander off again, ready for the next explorer.
Families are warmly welcomed, with small treats waiting at each stop to keep young walkers happy along the way.
Woof’s Winter Walk & Wine celebrates the simple pleasures of the season – fresh air, good company, a glass of red in hand and the charm of Coonawarra in winter. Whether visiting for the day or making a weekend of it, it’s a relaxed and memorable way to experience the region.
Don’t forget to share your adventure when you #FindWoof.
This event is part of Coonawarra Cellar Dwellers, running throughout July.
