To celebrate Zema Estate's 40 years as a family-owned winery, we have released our commemorative 2016 Saluti. A Cabernet and Shiraz blend that represents the best attributes of both these classic Coonawarra varieties.

Australia is the only place in the world where Cabernet Sauvignon and Shiraz comes together in a blend that represents the best attributes of both of these classic varieties. The Cabernet (72%) contributes length, structure, and blackcurrant/mulberry attractiveness while the Shiraz (28%) brings mid-palate fruit intensity, generous plum, and spice to the match.
A dark and sumptuous nose delivers the best of both worlds, with varietal notes from both varieties on display. Blackcurrant, spice, leather and savory tones and wonderfully integrated oak.
After 12-months of maturation a selection of barrels was taken from the finest batches of the 2016 vintage to craft this wine, the balance being found with a Cabernet dominant blend. Further maturation was then completed in new and used French and American hogsheads for an additional 14-months before final blending and bottling.
Restrained, with outstanding structure and length, this is a classic Australian red wine that will reward cellaring for at least 15 years.
