The Estate range wines are vibrant expressions of varietal flavour.
Our Estate Shiraz was made from fruit that was harvested at its optimum maturity, and then fermented on skins for 10 days under controlled temperatures using a combination of static, pulse air and rotary fermenters. Maturation for 15 months in French and American oak Hogshead barrels has assisted in the development of a wine that shows vibrancy and richness.
It has an enticing nose filled with raspberry and ripe plum. The palate is restrained and well-structured with ripe red fruits, soft tannins, subtle oak notes.
Aged in bottle for two years for smoothness and drinkability, this wine while drinking well now will continue to gain complexity and offers excellent cellaring potential, for at least ten years.

"Decent flavour and a bit of spread to the finish; this is a good release from Zema. Redcurrant and plum flavours with mint, cream and woodsy spice. It's medium weight and feels well finessed." 92 points, Campbell Mattinson, Halliday Wine Companion, published 18 July 2023

"What a cracking buy for 22 bucks! Big love for this Zema Estate Shiraz. It's a super reliable drink. Loaded with plums, dark berries and chocolate, there is a great presence and weight to embrace. Its value is further heightened by the fact it sees 15 months in French and American oak that impart cedar and char nuances. Spices aplenty, that length seems unstoppable. For a current release that have five years already under its belt, this is super value!" 92 points, Qwine, published August 2024.

"This fine Coonawarra Shiraz was fermented on skins for ten days before fifteen months in a mix of French and American hogsheads. These Estate wines are absolutely nothing if not fabulous value. The colour here is a near opaque purple. The nose exhibits finely handled oak and the wine oozes purple fruits along with mulberries, chocolate, vanilla, plums and dried herbs. The wine is balanced with finesse and focus, and fine satiny tannins. Very long, this is a ten to fifteen year proposition. A cracker. And by the way, already five years ageing in the Zema cellars. This is a no brainer. 94 points, Winepilot, Ken Gargett, September 2024.
