If you’re visiting Coonawarra, we’d love to welcome you for a tasting at our Cellar Door. You can expect a warm, welcoming atmosphere, and we offer complimentary tastings of our current release wines. If you want to linger a little longer, enjoy one of our gourmet platters, which pair perfectly with our wines. Or book our super premium Saluti tasting.
Our Cellar Door also features a selection of condiments and gifts, including the much-loved Mrs. Zema’s homemade chilli paste and olive oil.

Current Release Tasting
Enjoy a complimentary tasting of our current release wines in the warm and welcoming surrounds of our intimate Cellar Door. Begin with our exclusive range, including Sauvignon Blanc, a Rosé made from estate-grown Shiraz, and our crowd-pleasing Sparkling Merlot.
Then explore our Estate Range: Cabernet Sauvignon, Shiraz, and Cluny – a refined blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Malbec, and Cabernet Franc. Finish with the Family Selection Shiraz and Cabernet Sauvignon – the ‘cream of the crop’, hand-selected from our best vineyard parcels for their exceptional intensity and varietal character. Walk-ins are also welcome.
Zema Estate Saluti Icon Tasting
$5 Tasting. To celebrate Zema Estate’s 40 years as a family-owned winery, we have released our commemorative 2016 Saluti, a Cabernet and Shiraz blend. With a very limited release, the Saluti celebrates the pinnacle of the Zema family’s winemaking achievements over 40 years and our commitment to the future. Taste this iconic wine for yourself. This tasting is redeemable upon any purchase of Saluti on the day. Walk-ins are also welcome.

Join the team at Zema Estate Cellar Door and sample our gourmet platter. Each platter includes two types of cheeses, olives, dried apricots, almonds, quince paste, Tucker’s Natural gourmet crackers and cured meats. Full platter typically serves 2-3 people / half platter serves 1-2 people. *Please specify dietary requests at the time of booking. Walk-ins are also welcome.
Private Tasting: Winery Tour + Estate Range

Coonawarra Cellar Dwellers – Special Events in July
This July, the Coonawarra wine region comes alive for Cellar Dwellers – a month-long celebration of back vintage wines. Experience the remarkable ageing ability of Coonawarra wines as our wineries unearth rare and back vintage treasures, usually hidden from the tasting room. With over 40 events and activities across the region, there’s something for every wine lover to discover.

Mystery Wine Tasting Challenge: July

Think you know your wine? Put your palate to the test in Zema Estate’s Mystery Wine Tasting Challenge! Taste a selection of aged Coonawarra wines – served blind – and see if you can correctly guess the variety and vintage for your chance to win a prize. Whether you’re a wine connoisseur or just love a fun challenge, this is your chance to sharpen your tasting skills and uncover the secrets of beautifully aged wines. Walk-ins are also welcome.
Winter Walk & Wine Experience: July
$0 per person – Available to book from 1st July
Embrace the crisp winter air and explore the Coonawarra Walking Trail this July with the Winter Walk & Wine experience! Rug up, grab an umbrella, and set off on a leisurely self-guided wine adventure, stopping at some of Coonawarra’s finest wineries along the way. Simply pick up a Super Quiz at any of the six participating wineries and follow the green footprints to your next destination. Visit at least three wineries and answer the quiz questions along the way. When you are finished, drop off your completed quiz at the last winery to go in the draw to win a mixed dozen wines – valued at $350. Walk-ins are also welcome.
Back Vintage Tasting – Friday 18th July

As part of Cellar Dwellers 2025, join us for an unforgettable evening where the past pours perfectly into your glass. For one night only, up to 15 of Coonawarra’s top wineries will come together under one roof to showcase the remarkable ageing potential of our region’s wines. We’re proud to be among the producers pouring on the night, with Zema Estate showcasing our 2008 and 2012 Family Selection Shiraz. Enjoy a relaxed atmosphere, light grazing fare during the tasting, and for those looking to linger longer – an optional dinner at the award-winning Pipers of Penola will take the evening to another level.

Explore the workings of a family-run winery, gaining insight into the winemaking and viticulture philosophies that have shaped Zema Estate for over 40 years.
